What are transparent adhesive films used for?
You are protected with our adhesive films!
Transparent safety films are designed to make the glass on your window surfaces safer, both by reinforcing it against glass breakage and more importantly by keeping dangerous glass shards in place in situations where breakage occurs for any reason.
Transparent adhesive safety films offer a quick after-the-fact solution, avoiding costly and disruptive glass replacement.
Solar Screen films are completely invisible when installed and therefore allow natural light to pass through perfectly. The films are scratch-resistant, making them suitable for most non-abrasive glass cleaning methods.
As well as providing security, our self-adhesive films also provide UV protection, reducing the fading of your upholstery and other vulnerable objects. In addition, some transparent films also give your windows a mirror-like appearance, eliminating any discomfort from view. Some films will also protect your windows from vandalism such as scratches, tags, or acid etching.
The majority of Solar Screen's transparent security films are tested and certified to the European standard EN 12600. This standard ensures that the safety film complies with the impact behaviour of the glass.
The different types of transparent adhesive films
As the name suggests, transparent window films are intended to remain invisible so as not to obstruct the view of the outside and to keep out the natural light. However, there are some models of transparent films with a mirror effect for more privacy and to avoid being seen from the outside.
The thickness of a transparent adhesive film is adapted for maximum protection against glass breakage. Some of the adhesives in our range of transparent films are thicker than 300 microns. This high-quality film can be installed on the inside or outside of your glass surface.
